Texarkana Wilbur Smith Rotary Club Awards $5,000 Grant to Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank To Fight Hunger.
The Rotary Foundation contributes to enhancing global comprehension, fostering positive relations, and promoting peace through enhancing healthcare, offering high-quality education, enhancing environmental conditions, and reducing poverty. This is achieved by granting funds to organizations that align with this objective.
This year, Texarkana Wilbur Smith Rotary Club is pleased to announce that Harvest Regional Food Bank of Texarkana, Arkansas, has been selected as the recipient of a $5,000 grant for their outstanding contributions to the community, particularly during their response to a devastating tornado that struck the Beverly community and surrounding areas in the Ark-La-Tex region.
Led by Chief Executive Officer Camille Coker-Wrinkle, Harvest Regional Food Bank has been instrumental in providing nourishment to families in Northeast Texas and Southwest Arkansas for more than three decades. They actively receive and disperse food to various local establishments such as food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools, and other hunger relief organizations.
Wilbur Smith Rotary Club President Dr. Brian Matthews stated, "There are numerous avenues for individuals interested in contributing, whether through donations, volunteering, hosting a food drive, or organizing a special event in support of the Food Bank."
